DO NOT LOOK UP film is a remake of Japanese film titled the same that was circulated in 1996 ago. If you notice, there are many elements of Japanese horror which is still visible in this film. Looks like Fruit Chan, the director, did not intend to eliminate the Japanese even though these films are now made for a wider market.Most horror films are identical with the B-Movie aka second-class movie that was not too decent for the wait. Not all do because there are some decent horror movie thumbs up. Unfortunately, DO NOT LOOK UP is not of this second group. In addition to the less solid story line, visuals this film is also less convincing.
Finally, instead of making the audience fear, DO NOT LOOK UP is even boring. No wonder also if the movie was released direct to DVD aka not playing in theaters first. Looks like the studio already knew that this film would not be an audience
Movie Synopsis
The story of Matya always attract attention. At least there were two people who tried to raise the director of this horrible story into a movie. Unfortunately, every time this story will be filmed, it looks like there are always forces that hinder this effort. What's wrong with the story that actually happened in these dark ages?
Once upon a time there was a woman who wanted to marry a man in power and ask for help demon named Beng who then asked her first child in return. The child was born with the name Matya and bring the sign of the devil in her body. He died murdered citizens who fear the curse of the devil. The story is then tempting a director to make his film.
In 1928 a director trying to film the story but suddenly the whole crew including the director and actor of this film disappears. The film, made even gone off somewhere. Marcus Reed (Reshad Strik) tries to pick this story and went to Romania to start this project. Unfortunately on the set of Marcus began to feel that the place he chose the dark mystery. Does this have anything to do with the story Matya and Beng?
