Contagion

Contagion is an upcoming action-thriller film directed by Steven Soderbergh, and starring Kate Winslet, Matt Damon, Jude Law, Gwyneth Paltrow, Marion Cotillard, Laurence Fishburne, and Sanaa Lathan. The film is set to release in theaters and IMAX on September 9, 2011.

Movie SYnopsis
Known as The Last Breath on cable TV and Epidemic abroad, this contemporary technothriller was filmed in 2001 under the title Contagion. When the President of the United States (Bruce Boxleitner) is struck by a poisoned dart, a shadowy terrorist claims that the Chief Executive has been infected with a lethal virus, for which the terrorist has the only antidote. As frenzied negotations proceed between the Government and the assailant, virologist Dr. Diane Landis (Megan Gallagher) races against time to save the President's life and avoid a worldwide crisis, with or without the aid of the typically uncooperative Secret Service. Even though the basic situation is fraught with thrills and terror, somehow or other the film climaxes with an out-of-left field cliffhanger involving a child in jeaopardy. Withheld from release in the wake of the Anthrax scares attending the terrorist attack of September 11, 2001, Contagion was finally seen by American viewers courtesy of the Lifetime network on October 7, 2003.

Movie Synopsis
The story takes place in the year 2035 in Chicago, in a world where robots are widespread and used as servants and for various public services. They are taken to be inherently safe, being designed in accordance with the Three Laws of Robotics (referring to the laws written by Isaac Asimov).

Del Spooner (Will Smith) is a Chicago police detective who dislikes the rapid advancement of technology, including robots. Spooner lives with survivor's guilt and a robotic arm and lung after a car accident in which he was chosen over a 12-year-old girl named Sarah in another car to be saved as the robot could only save one of them and Spooner had the best chance of survival according to the robot. He is assigned to investigate the apparent suicide of his friend Alfred Lanning (Cromwell), the roboticist who founded the company U.S. Robotics (USR) and created his replacement arm, and was found to have fallen through an office window to his death

The movie definitely has that same feel as [REC], Quarantine and some other familiar movies.

The Invasion is a 2007 American science fiction horror film starring Nicole Kidman and Daniel Craig, primarily directed by Oliver Hirschbiegel. Warner Bros. Pictures later hired James McTeigue to shoot scenes rewritten by the Wachowski brothers.

Released on August 17, 2007 in the United States it was a commercial failure that met with mixed reviews. It ultimately earned $40,170,568 worldwide against a $65 million budget. The film received a tepid reaction from critics, with a Metacritic score of 45 out of 100.

The Invasion is the fourth film adaptation of the 1955 novel The Body Snatchers by Jack Finney, following the 1956 film Invasion of the Body Snatchers directed by Don Siegel, the 1978 remake also titled Invasion of the Body Snatchers directed by Philip Kaufman, and 1993's Body Snatchers directed by Abel Ferrara.

Movie Synopsis

An alien lifeform, much like a fungus, clings to the space shuttle Patriot which crashes to Earth, spreading tainted debris from Texas to Washington, D.C. curious onlookers steal and sell pieces of the debris on eBay, much like what happened with the Columbia disaster. This in turn infects many people, bringing them under the aliens lifeform's mindless control when they enter REM sleep.

One of the first people infected is Tucker (Jeremy Northam), a CDC director investigating the crash. Once he is overcome, Tucker uses the CDC to spread the disease further, disguising the spores as flu inoculations. In a panic from a made-up "flu bug," people rush to get "inoculated," later becoming pod people when they fall asleep.

cloverfield

Cloverfield is a 2008 American disaster-monster film directed by Matt Reeves, produced by J. J. Abrams and written by Drew Goddard.

The film follows six young New Yorkers attending a going-away party on the night that a gigantic monster attacks the city. First publicized in a teaser trailer in screenings of Transformers, the film was released on January 17 in New Zealand and Australia, on January 18 in North America, on January 24 in South Korea, on January 25 in Taiwan, on January 31 in Germany and on February 1 in Ireland, in the United Kingdom and in Italy. In Japan, the film was released on April 5.

VFX and CGI were performed by effects studios Double Negative and Tippett Studio.

Movie Synopsis

The film is presented as found footage from a personal video camera recovered by the United States Department of Defense. A disclaimer text states that the footage is of a case designated "Cloverfield" and was found in the area "formerly known as Central Park". The video consists chiefly of segments taped the night of Friday, May 22 and the morning of Saturday, May 23. The newer segments were taped over older video that is visible occasionally.

The first video segment opens when Rob wakes up on the morning of Monday, April 27 having slept with Beth, a previously platonic friend. They make plans to go to Coney Island that day. The footage suddenly cuts to May 22, when Rob's brother Jason and his girlfriend Lily prepare a farewell party for Rob who will be moving to Japan. At the party, their friend Hud uses a camera to film testimonials, and flirts unsuccessfully with Marlena, another party guest. After Beth leaves the party following an argument with Rob, an apparent earthquake strikes, and the city suffers a brief power outage.

The Adjustment Bureau is a 2011 American film loosely based on the Philip K. In a park near David's house, Harry Mitchell (Anthony Mackie) receives an assignment from his boss: ensure Norris spills coffee on his shirt by 7:05 AM; shortly thereafter he falls asleep while waiting and misses David, who boards a bus. On the bus David encounters Elise, the woman from the bathroom, who gives him her phone number. When Norris arrives at work he finds his coworkers immobile and his boss (and campaign manager) Charlie Traynor (Michael Kelly) being examined by unfamiliar men in suits. The men give chase, and eventually David is incapacitated and taken to a warehouse, where he is told what is happening.

I Am Number Four

John Smith (Alex Pettyfer) is an alien from planet Lorien who was sent to Earth as a child alongside eight others to escape an invading race, the Mogadorians, which destroyed their home planet. He is protected by a Warrior/Guardian, Henri (Timothy Olyphant), and has developed superpowers due to his extraterrestrial nature, such as enhanced strength, speed and agility, telekinesis, resistance to fire and heat, and the power to generate light from his hands.
The Mogadorians, led by the Commander (Kevin Durand) eventually learn about the nine children and come to Earth in search of them. These Loriens can only be killed in a particular sequence, with three of them having already been slain. John is Number Four. Knowing this, he and Henri move from Florida to Paradise, Ohio, where John befriends conspiracy theorist Sam Goode (Callan McAuliffe), a dog named Bernie Kosar, and falls in love with amateur photographer Sarah Hart (Dianna Agron), whose ex-boyfriend, school athlete Mark James (Jake Abel) is a bully who often torments both John and Sam.
During the spring carnival, Mark and his friends try to capture John and Sarah, whom they believe are in a relationship, and follow them into the woods, where they attempt to beat John up. However, he uses his powers to fend them off and rescue Sarah. Sam witnesses the events, and John tells him his true origin. Shortly thereafter, Mark's father, the local sheriff, interrogates Henri on John's whereabouts when his son and his friends were attacked, and notices that he has a high-tech surveillance system.

In 2009, Graeme Willy and Clive Gollings (Simon Pegg and Nick Frost) are two English comic book nerds and best friends who have travelled to America to attend the annual Comic-Con convention and to take a road trip in their RV to visit all the sites of major extraterrestrial importance. At night along the highway they investigate a crashed car and they meet and discover an alien named Paul (voiced by Seth Rogen) who is in desperate need of their help.
Although shocked by the appearance of Paul, Graeme agrees to give Paul a ride, but Clive is not happy about the idea. Later, Lorenzo Zoil (Jason Bateman), a shady government agent, arrives at the site of the crashed car and informs his mysterious female superior over the radio that he's closing in on Paul, and she recommends using local law enforcement as back-up. Zoil then recruits two inept FBI agents, Haggard (Bill Hader) and O'Reilly (Joe Lo Truglio), to aid in his mission, without telling them the nature of their target.

On August 12, 2011, mysterious objects thought to be meteorites crash into Earth's oceans near several major cities including Tokyo, Paris, Rio de Janeiro, Buenos Aires, Boston, New Orleans, San Francisco, San Diego, Mexico City, New York City, Hong Kong, Shanghai, London, Manchester, Barcelona, Hamburg, Sydney and Los Angeles. These objects are revealed to be spacecraft containing hostile extraterrestrial forces. U.S. Marines from Camp Pendleton arrive in LA to defend against alien ground forces and assist in the evacuation of civilians in preparation for a bombing campaign. Among the military's forces is SSgt. Michael Nantz (Aaron Eckhart), a 20-year veteran who lost his squad during his last deployment in Iraq. Nantz had planned to retire, but the situation requires him to replace the platoon sergeant of a platoon from "E" Company, 2nd Battalion 5th Marines.
Under command of 2ndLt. William Martinez (Ramón Rodríguez), fresh out of The Basic School, the platoon attends a briefing at Santa Monica Airport, which has been converted to a Forward Operating Base. They learn that the alien force consists solely of ground forces at the moment, with no air support to speak of; as such, the USAF plans to commence saturation bombing of the Santa Monica area at 1930 hours. The platoon's mission is to rescue civilians from an LAPD police station within three hours. As they advance through the city, they are ambushed and suffer casualties, but link up with a group of U.S. Army National Guard soldiers from the 40th Infantry Division, including Air Force intelligence Technical Sergeant Elena Santos (Michelle Rodriguez). Eventually, the combined team reaches the police station, finding five civilians inside: a veterinarian named Michele (Bridget Moynahan), children Hector Rincon (Bryce Cass), Kirsten (Joey King) and Amy (Jadin Gould), and Hector's father Joe (Michael Peña). A helicopter arrives to evacuate the wounded Marines, but is unable to take on the civilians because it is already full. As the helicopter is taking off, an alien aircraft rams through and destroys it. The marines quickly realize that the earlier reports of the enemy having no air support were false.

Iron Man 2 is a 2010 American superhero film featuring the Marvel Comics character Iron Man, produced by Marvel Studios and distributed by Paramount Pictures. Movie Synopsis
Russian television shows Stark Industries CEO Tony Stark (Robert Downey, Jr.) revealing his identity as Iron Man to the world. Ivan Vanko (Mickey Rourke), whose father, Anton Vanko (Yevgeni Lazarev), has just died, sees this and begins building a similar weapon.

Six months later, Stark has used his Iron Man armor to help maintain world peace. He re-institutes the Stark Expo in Flushing Meadows to continue his father Howard's legacy. Senator Stern (Garry Shandling) demands that Stark turn over the Iron Man technology to the government. Stark refuses, claiming that foreign nations and business competitors are decades away from successfully recreating his achievements, and that the armor is in fact his own property.

The palladium core in the arc reactor that keeps Stark alive and powers the armor is slowly poisoning him, and he has failed to find a substitute. Growing increasingly despondent and reckless due to his impending death, and choosing not to tell anyone about his condition, Stark appoints his personal assistant Pepper Potts (Gwyneth Paltrow) CEO of Stark Industries, and replaces her with Stark employee Natalie Rushman (Scarlett Johansson).

The Thing

The Thing is an upcoming science fiction horror film directed by Matthijs van Heijningen Jr., written by Eric Heisserer, and starring Mary Elizabeth Winstead and Joel Edgerton in the lead roles. It is a prequel to the 1982 John Carpenter film of the same name. Matthijs's film will take place right before the first film, with the original Norwegian crew that discovered the alien.

When an experiment frees the alien from its frozen prison, Kate, Adam and Davida join the crew's pilot, Carter (Joel Edgerton), to keep it from killing them and imitating them one at a time, using its ability to perfectly mimic any lifeform it absorbs through digestion, and eventually reaching civilization.

Apollo 18

Apollo 18 is an upcoming horror film directed by Gonzalo Lopez-Gallego and produced by Timur Bekmambetov. It will be Lopez-Gallego's first English-language film.

Apollo 18 is a found footage-style film set in December 1974, about a post-Apollo 17 mission to the Moon that takes on a premise of why NASA discontinued the Apollo moon missions. The plot involves a government coverup of the Apollo 18 mission after parasitic lifeforms on the Moon discovered the crew and began to attack them. Much of the back-story remains unknown; however, the movie posters in English indicate the Russian KGB role in Soviet lunar conspiracy and the Russian movie posters show inscriptions in English suggesting an American government cover up in lunar conspiracy. In the trailer, an American astronaut finds a dead cosmonaut and a Soviet LK Lander on the lunar surface.

Attack the Block

Jake Lonergan (Daniel Craig) can not remember what had happened to him. He did not even remember who he is anymore. All he knew, when he first woke up, her wrist curled an odd-shaped shackles that he could not release. Do not know what to do, the only hope is to find information in a nearby town.

When Jake entered the small town of Absolution, everyone seemed to try to escape. Jake finally knew that he was actually a villain who hunted in many places including at Absolution own. Absolution itself is a city that is under the control of Colonel Woodrow Dolarhyde (Harrison Ford). Like most law enforcement, Dolarhyde also wanted the head of Jake.

Not long later, the problem grew complicated when Absolution was suddenly attacked by a force from the sky. No one can survive this catastrophe. At the same time, the memory of Jake began to recover and he realized that the shackles that had been attached to his wrist could be the key to saving the entire town Absolution of attack this creature from another planet.
