Death Race was acquired by Universal Studios, and Anderson re-joined the project to write and direct. Filming began in Montreal in August 2007, and the completed project was released on August 22, 2008.
The film is a remake of the 1975 film Death Race 2000, based on Ib Melchior's short story "The Racer", and stars Jason Statham in the lead role. The remake had been in development since 2002, though production was delayed by disapproval of early screenplays then placed in turnaround following a dispute between Paramount Pictures.
Synopsis Movie :
The racing driver of the champion's three times, Jensen Ames (John Statham) was expert in escaping from the danger. When he decided to begin the new life, he was it was charged upper a murder that not he did. Pushed to croak the racing driver's mystery Frankenstein – the community's idol that was not overcome by – Ames was helped by the Head of the Prison (Joan Allen): escaped from the prison.
Ames must remain opposed criminal cruel in the prison to get the freedom. Drove the car that was supplemented with the machine gun and the grenade thrower, Ames must destroy any that he met in order to win sport was deadliest in the corner of the world.
